Repsonse To Comments!

Okay I just want to let everyone know ...

to all the comments from friday's entry of the little boy piercing!

Yes I can refuse a piercing!

No I will not get in trouble by my boss ... it is a company policy that if we do not feel comfortable to do the piercing then we don't have to!

I told the mom, "I don't think I'm going to be able to do this becuase he won't sit still and I think ...."

That is when she had cut me off to bring in the sister!

I knew she would have HELL raised if I didn't do it!

So I figured i am good at judging when I have 2 seconds to "DO IT"

So I waited until I knew I could get the best shot on each ear (Yea, he got both sides done) and I just went for it ... it came out perfect!

But I really didn't want to do it because the boy was upset and people walking past always think, "Look at that employee about to kill that boy!"

I'm just doing what I get paid to do ... yes sometimes it is sad .... then there are other times when I am happy to be the one to have made such a happy customer by simplying piercing their ears!

I just wanted to point out the sides of this and give more details!

You did what you did.  The mother was in the wrong for not caring about how the boy felt.  You were just doing your job.  I completely understand.

Hi Theresa, I meant to tell you I've also added that to my must read list. Sounds like an interesting book. As far as the ear piercing situation, I'm glad that you get to make calls as to whether or not you want to pierce someone's ears or not. When I read the entry a few days ago, I was under the impression that you didn't have a choice but I'm glad you do. And I'm glad you didn't get hurt or anything. He was young but even little kids can make ya say ouch if they're kicking/hitting hard enough! LOL. I have neices and nephews so I know :-)

I've seen both sides of this when walking through a mall with my sister. It must be very frustrating sometimes.
Thanks for the sweet comment ...

It's good that the company policy gives you that kind of flexibility.  I've often wondered how they handled things like that.  And as for what the passers-by are thinking and doing, try not to worry about them.  Just focus on what you are doing.  Thank you for stopping by my journal this past week.  :)

Hey Theresa, Thanks for dropping by my journal and explaining the whole J-alnd thing to me. Hey you did what you had to do to get the job done. Can not fight with a mom. Trust I have worked retail before and some people out their are just crazy if they don't get what they want.

I just thought I would let you know I never blame it on the employee... I blame it on the parent! You didn't pull him in and do it the parent wanted it done and if any one is to blame for the child crying and hurting it's the person who had the "bright" idea to do it in the first place!
